Local artist's commemorative work commissioned by Village - Palmetto Bay News Palmetto Bay resident and accomplished artist Mai Yap was selected by the Village of Palmetto Bay to create a special piece of art to celebrate their fifth anniversary. "Hibiscus Dance" depicts the gradual unfurling of each petal of a hibiscus bloom set against a backdrop of pictures from the lives, homes, buildings and activities of the residents of Palmetto Bay. The piece is on display at the Village's offices: 8950 SW 151 Street, Palmetto Bay, Florida

For the Love of Art - The Miami Herld Palmetto Bay Village Hall hosted a special event for the residents on Friday, March 9, 2007, blending the work of the ares's fine artists with performances by some of the village's best young musicians. For the Love of Art is the first of what promises to be a continuing series of art exhibits at their premises.
